JCR South Africa will process your application for an au-pair stay in the United States of America if you are from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho or Swaziland.

Thank you for your interest in our American cultural exchange programs. With the exception of the Summer aupair, you can fly at anytime during the year.

If you have been an aupair once before in the USA, you can go again as long as you have been back home in South Africa for at least two years!

SUMMER AUPAIR Four months from mid June with a fifth month to travel. Last applications accepted 28th February.	18 – 26 Drivers License an advantage Matric 200 hours child care experience Willing to work up to 45 hours per week Non smoker	Non refundable application fee of R500 Placement fee on confirmation of family match R 2500 Airfare supplement $200 Refundable deposit $200* Visa fees $100	A $250 education allowance Comprehensive Medical Insurance, Optional top up available 32 Hours of Child Care training Visa support, legal J1 aupair visa Balance of airfare paid for you $176.85 per week plus your own room and all meals with the family Community counsellor in your area, regular meetings, organised outings.
STANDARD AUPAIR 12 months with the option of a 13^th month to travel. This program can be extended for a second year. Applications accepted all year round You can apply for a second time if you have been back in SA for a minimum of two years.	18 – 26 Drivers License an advantage Matric 200 hours child care experience, preferably with children under the age of two Willing to work up to 45 hours per week Non Smoker	Non refundable application fee of R500 Placement fee on confirmation of family match R 2000 (R1000 discount for au-pairs with 200 hours of under two experience) Airfare supplement $200 Refundable deposit $300* Visa fees $100	A $500 education allowance Comprehensive Medical Insurance, Optional top up available 32 Hours of Child Care training Visa support, legal J1 aupair visa Balance of airfare paid for you $176.85 per week plus your own room and all meals with the family Two weeks paid leave per year Community counsellor in your area, regular meetings, organised outings.
EDUCARE AUPAIR 12 months with the option of a 13^th month to travel. This program can be extended for a second year. Applications accepted all year round You can apply for a second time if you have been back in SA for a minimum of two years.	18 – 26 Drivers License an advantage Matric 200 hours child care experience Willing to work up to 30 hours per week Non Smoker	Non refundable application fee of R500 Placement fee on confirmation of family match R 2500 Airfare supplement $200 Refundable deposit $300* Visa fees $100	A $1000 education allowance Comprehensive Medical Insurance, Optional top up available 32 Hours of Child Care training Visa support, legal J1 aupair visa Balance of airfare paid for you $132.64 per week plus your own room and all meals with the family Two weeks paid leave per year Community counsellor in your area, regular meetings, organised outings.
AUPAIR PLUS 12 months with the option of a 13^th month to travel. This program can be extended for a second year. Applications accepted all year round You can apply for a second time if you have been back in SA for a minimum of two years.	18 – 26 Drivers License an advantage Matric Willing to work up to 45 hours per week Non Smoker Completed one year as an aupair in another country	Non refundable application fee of R500 Placement fee on confirmation of family match R 500 Airfare supplement $200 Refundable deposit $300* Visa fees $100	A $500 education allowance Comprehensive Medical Insurance, Optional top up available 32 Hours of Child Care training Visa support, legal J1 aupair visa Balance of airfare paid for you $215.00 per week plus your own room and all meals with the family Two weeks paid leave per year Community counsellor in your area, regular meetings, organised outings.
PREMIER AUPAIR 12 months with the option of a 13^th month to travel. This program can be extended for a second year. Applications accepted all year round You can apply for a second time if you have been back in SA for a minimum of two years.	20 – 26 Drivers License for at least 6 months Matric Willing to work up to 45 hours per week Non Smoker Completed two years of full time child care experience or have an academic child care qualification	Non refundable application fee of R500 Placement fee on confirmation of family match R 500 Airfare supplement $200 Refundable deposit $300* Visa fees $100	A $500 education allowance Comprehensive Medical Insurance, Optional top up available 32 Hours of Child Care training Visa support, legal J1 aupair visa Balance of airfare paid for you $255.00 per week plus your own room and all meals with the family Two weeks paid leave per year Community counsellor in your area, regular meetings, organised outings.

*All deposits are refunded at the end of the program subject to program compliance

JCR has been sending au-pairs on legal programs since 1992.
JCR are so confident of their programs that they will not charge a program fee until you accept a proposed host family.
JCR ensures a valid contract that protects you. You will receive calls from host families that are interested in your application.
JCR offers full support during your year away, including organised tours, a safe house in case of emergencies; rematches should there be problems and fully vetted host families.
